Bio

John Parsons is an Internet Safety and Risk Assessment Consultant who delivers cyber security training workshops to New Zealand Police and government sector organisations. John also works with the Private sector, the Health Sector and the Education sector, delivering workshops to increase protection against Internet-based threats to their information systems, related business assets and personal.

John was named and awarded a "Paul Harris Fellow" by Rotary International for his work in child protection online and in the community.

INCIDENT RESPONSE AND PREVENTION PLANNING

He works with organisations who have become the victims of an incident in which digital communication technologies have been used to deliver or assist the attack. He also delivers professional development workshops providing “human defence in-depth” strategies as part of a prevention-first approach to reducing the opportunity for an incident to occur. 

SPECIALIST TRAINING
He works alongside Police, Children Young Persons and their Families (CYF) and various Health Professionals delivering training in child protection to attendees who come from a wide range of professions. The focus of this work is the reduction of child abuse in New Zealand.

He delivers Staff Training, Key note speaker engagements and Cyber security presentations.

He delivers cyber safety workshops to those who work with young people in areas of health, education and safety. John also delivers parent/caregiver cyber safety workshops through school or community based initiatives.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
He works with individuals, young people and families who have become ensnared by predatory adults across digital networks, those who have been cyber abused and children and youth who abuse others using online technologies. The purpose of this work is to deliver education that allows the child to re-engage with ICT and reduce the opportunity of harm occurring in the future.

John teaches in class to Primary, Intermediate, College age students and adult learning groups,
